  • Online gaming and ‘knighthood’
    • We usually associate ‘knighthood’ with British honours; right? The online gaming world has come out with its own knights! In MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game) environment, a gamer chooses an ‘avatar’ or ‘character’. Depending on the game, it could be a magician, archer, healer, swordsman, dwarf or gunman. Once in virtual arena, the player walks through the worlds killing other players or, more commonly, monsters.
    • ‘Knighthood’ is conferred on some excellent players by the other gamers (usually their rivals in the game). Reportedly there are some good gamers in the online arena that make about Rs. 30,000 per month playing e-games and selling virtual stuff for which other gamers are willing to pay real cash.
